Model-turned-actress Brooklyn Decker witnessed a distinct change of mood at tennis’ U.S. Open on Friday compared to previous days. The “Just Go With It” star – whose husband, Andy Roddick, was playing Rafael Nadal in a quarterfinal match – said that security was visibly beefed up as the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks approached. Decker tweeted Friday, “A bit of a shift in mood at the Open today… Officers in helmets carrying fully automatic weapons. Good to see they’re taking precaution.” Security may also have been increased because of the presence of first lady Michelle Obama, who watched the game with Billie Jean King from a private box. Model and actress Brooklyn Decker has had a tougher time of it recently at the US Open than her husband, Andy Roddick, after being heckled in a case of mistaken identity, the New York Post reported Sunday. Decker was incognito in a long, big sweatshirt as she waited alone for Roddick, who whipped fellow Nebraskan Jack Sock in straight sets, outside the president’s gate at 12:45 a.m. on Saturday. Suddenly, Decker started getting shouted at by a group of impatient journalists who were on the last media bus and thought Decker was holding them up. The journalists screamed repeatedly at Decker, “Hurry up and get on the bus,” not realizing she was Roddick’s famous wife and not with the media. Decker, who appeared to be embarrassed, walked away toward a players’ van. [Source] |
