23-year-old Brooklyn Decker is leaving behind the swimsuit modeling to do battle with deep sea supernatural forces in director Peter Berg’s uber-expensive “Battleship”. The film, which marks the model’s biggest acting gig since playing ‘job applicant’ on an episode of “Chuck”, is tipped to be one of the year’s biggest blockbusters. Nothing like a huge-scale tentpole to cement one’s career in Hollywood.

And in April, look for Jake Gyllenhaal to transport himself into another man’s body to stop a bomber in “Source Code.” Even though actor Paul Giamatti was nominated in the best musical or comedy category, “Barney’s Version” is one of the first big dramas of the year. That’s followed by a group of men facing the challenges of a down economy in “The Company Men.” Another man facing the challenge of someone assuming his identity in “Unknown.” And Matt Damon literally fighting fate to be with emily blunt in “The Adjustment Bureau.”

There are tons of animated movies on the way, starting with “Gnomeo and Juliet” in February. Johnny Depp is the voice of a chameleon with an identity crisis in “Rango.” The Easter Bunny kicks out the jams in “Hop.” And on tax day, a caged bird flies south for love in “Rio.”

Looking for laughs? Adam Sandler pretends his assistant is his ex-wife so he can date Brooklyn Decker in “Just Go With It.” Owen Wilson and Jason Sudeikis get a one week break from marriage in “Hall Pass.” Three friends have one last hurrah before adulthood in “Take me Home Tonight.”

And April finds Danny McBride as a not-so-valiant prince trying rescue his brother’s betrothed in “Your Highness.” Looking even farther down the road, expect summer blockbusters like “Cowboys and Aliens” and “Kung Fu Panda 2″ to make a splash. [Source]
